School. Urgh.

I can't believe summer is over! It felt as if it would never end and I was starting to get bored, but now that I have school tomorrow I want summer to start all over again! :(

I'm going away on a trip on the first day of sixth form this year to a university for 3 days to do team building activities with my new form... fun times. We have to do some form of sport and go to a formal dinner - effort.

Therefore, I will have no contact with the Internet until the weekend so I will not be able to upload any videos or write a blog post until I return. Sorry!

GCSE Results! AAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!

So today, I got my GCSE results. Even though I know that GCSEs aren't as important as A-Levels in the long run, I still felt myself get extremely nervous, probably because it was my first ever proper official results day, as I made my way into the school library to find the envelope labelled "Laura Owens" containing the most important piece of paper in my life so far. My heart was pounding as I walked through crowds of people celebrating and hugging. My friend Josh whispered, "Good luck, Laura" to me just before I caught sight of my envelope. I took it over to a quieter spot and my hands were shaking as I pulled the paper out. Here is what I saw (well not exactly what I saw, just a simpler version because there were a lot of components with grades on the page too so I thought I would type them out to make it easier for y'all to read) :

(IGCSE) English Literature: A*
(IGCSE) English Language: A
(IGCSE) Mathematics: A*
(IGCSE) Chemistry: A*
Biology: A*
Graphic Design: A* (holy frick, I got full marks :O )
German: A*
Spanish A*
Latin: A* (YAY!!! I worked my bum off for this subject!)

Note: The ones labelled "IGCSE" were international so that meant apparently they were harder than standard GCSEs. :)

So, overall, I got 8A*s and 1A :) (stupid English Language AAAAAARRRRR- aha I joke, I joke, I was so relieved to just not see any Cs or Ds on that piece of paper!) pheww.....

After my parents had finished chatting to their fellow parents, my family and I went for lunch at the same place we went to last week to celebrate my brother getting into university because I loved the food there so much and I got to choose the restaurant! It was yummy.

I had the same as last time except for starter I had garlic bread with cheese and they gave me a complimentary non-alcoholic cocktail as we were celebrating :)

Here's the link to the blog post where I told you what I had to eat the first time! http://www.missosolaura.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/yesterday-was-awesome.html

Then I came home and got beaten in a sprint race by a six-year-old. Nice one, Laura.

I seriously need a new hobby...

Having shopping as a favourite hobby is having a very large impact on my purse... Thank goodness it's nearly school time again so I won't have as much spare time as I do at the moment; maybe it'll give me some time to save up again.

Mind you, I do have two weeks of holiday pay from my paper round which might need spending...

No. Don't do it, Laura. Save the money for London.

Ooh yes, you're right. I'll do that...

In the meantime, here's what I squandered all my cash on recently:

^ Nice face. ^

Brave was epic!

Today, a friend and I went to the cinema to see Disney's Brave!

Personally, I am not a total Disney fanatic and I wasn't sure what this film was going to be like. But I really liked the storyline and the characters and especially the soundtrack. Oh my gosh, the music was so amazing! I got goosebumps!

If you aren't sure whether to go and see it I would definitely recommend it - for all ages!

Yesterday was awesome!

First of all, I was woken up by a text from my dad at 8:10 saying that my brother had done really well in his A-Levels and will be going to uni! Woop woop! I caught up on some TV before my parents and brother came back from collecting his results and then I had a bath in preparation for going out for lunch to celebrate the good news!

We got a taxi (presumably so the fam could get a little tipsy and not have to worry about driving home) to a nice Italian restaurant called Eden in the centre of town and because it was the middle of the day, no one else was in the restaurant so all our food came very promptly :) I had cauliflower and mozzarella soup which was interesting... I liked the bread that came with it though! Then for the main, I had a gorgeous margarita pizza which was yummy! Pudding was obviously chocolate fudge cake and I had a few J2Os and a sip of champagne during the meal.

Then we left the restaurant and headed to the bus station to get the bus home because apparently it was cheaper than getting a taxi home. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the bus to arrive so I went to T.K.Maxx in the shopping centre next door to see if there were any bargains there. There was a small final clearance section at the back where I saw a knitted jumper on sale for 20p! I saw some packs of Essie, Revlon and O.P.I. nail polishes reduced quite a lot but I had no money with me so I couldn't get anything; darn it!

We caught the bus home, which actually cost more than getting a taxi home, it took longer because the bridge was off and when we finally got to our bus stop we had to walk from the bus stop to our house so we all learnt a valuable lesson about public transport there.

When we got in, we all sat and watched Paranormal Activity 3 because my mum insisted that we watch it while it was still light outside. It was kinda freaky but having seen the first too films it wasn't as bad, because I knew what to expect. I probably went on YouTube after that and caught up on videos from that day until it was teatime. We still weren't that hungry, however, so we just had a couple of slices of bread each and some brownie bites :D yum!

We watched Final Destination 5 as well after that, which was way more gory than the first film and it was clever how it linked back to the first film too. Then I went to bed.

All in all it was a nice family day out (and in). I hope we can have another day together like that next week when I get my results...

YouTube is a legend.

YAY! Look what YouTube told me!
"Congratulations! Your account is now enabled for uploads longer than 15 minutes."

I then looked up how it had happened and an awesome website told me this:
"This elimination of 15 minute restriction is being awarded as a bonus to users who have been nice."

YAY! YOUTUBE THINKS I'M NICE!

Ooh, I almost forgot: NEW VIDEO!

New Nail Polish & Reviews!

I made a trip to Superdrug and Topshop the other day and collected the following nail polishes! Therefore, I decided that I would show you them and try a written review rather than a talky-talky review on my Youtube Channel!

________________________________________________________________________________

There was an offer on Barry M nail polishes: 2 for £5, so I bought...

--> Peach Melba (318)

I saw this colour on missglamorazzi's (on Youtube) recent London + Paris haul video and I had been looking for ages for a really pretty, peachy colour to wear on my nails. I already have a coral coloured polish but it's quite a bit darker than this so when I saw Ingrid (that's her name) show this in her video, I was like "I have to get this colour next time I go to Superdrug!"

--> Indigo (312)

This was also featured on Ingrid's haul video. It's a really beautiful, deep blue colour which I think would be great for winter because it's such a dark colour. As with the peach, I have been looking for a dark blue polish for a long time as I just don't have one in my collection and Ingrid reminded me that I needed one!

_________________________________________________________________________________

There was an offer on NYC polishes too: 2 for £2.49 (I think!), so I chose...

--> Grand Central Station (202) - it's just a clear polish

--> Lexington Yellow (294)

I desperately needed a clear nail polish because my previous one went completely solid after I used it up so the brush wouldn't touch what was left of it in the bottom of the bottle...

As it was 2 for £2.49, I decided to get another colour to get better value for money so I chose a yellow mainly because none of the other colours really stood out to me. I think NYC polishes are great because you get quite a large bottle of pretty good quality nail polish for a cheap price. Initially, I wasn't too excited about this yellow but when I put it on my nails, I just really liked it. I've seen a lot of yellow accessories in shops recently so I thought this would be a cool colour to match with those items. Also, it's a nice bright colour for what is left of the summer!

________________________________________________________________________________

I also bought my first ever nail polish from Topshop. It was one from the metallic range worth £6: Amethyst.

Firstly, I just want to say how much I love the packaging. I really like the spotty lid because it makes it instantly recognisable as a polish from Topshop and the design on the front of the actual bottle is really simple and I just like the font!

I've been looking for a multi-tonal nail polish for some time and I couldn't find one in drugstores like Superdrug and Boots, and I remembered that Topshop sold nail polishes so I checked out what they had on their website and Voila! I found the whole metallics range! There were a couple of other multi-tonal nail polishes on the website like Eclipse and Hidden Treasure which looked pretty cool but I decided to just pick one to start off with.
I really like how the polish looks in the bottle, with the purpley colour in the centre with brown, and maybe slightly green edges; I think it looks great. So I tried it on my nails.

Looking straight at the nail, it just looks like a shimmery purple colour, but when you move your finger and catch it in different lights it changes and you see the browny colour. Over the years I have collected a fair few purple nail polishes and I think the multi-tonal element to this one makes it much prettier and just more interesting!

I won't be purchasing Topshop nail polishes all the time, but every now and again shouldn't be too hard a hit on my purse!

Just uploaded a video; the second part of the Black Jacket story!

It's all nearly over...

I actually cannot believe that the London 2012 Olympic Games are almost all finished. :( It seems like only yesterday when I was waiting in line in the canteen at school for some lunch and looking at the poster on the wall that said "1000 days to go!". So many hundreds of days of build-up and it's all over within a couple of weeks...

Anyway... life goes on.

So... many... subscriptions...

Oh my gosh! I can't believe I have spent a full 3 days getting up to date with all the videos in my Youtube subscription box! Finally I have achieved this almost-impossible task and now I know to never leave my computer's side for more than a week ever again.

Chill guys! I've been away...

The reason I have been neglecting this blog for about 2 weeks now is because I have been away on holiday. I'm sorry... :(

But I'm home now so it's back to normal blogging and uploading videos again on my Youtube Channel: MissOSoLaura.

I have been posting pictures on Instagram during my holiday (I went to Prague with the fam) so you could go check them out if you want; my Instagram is "lavidadelaura".

Also, I just uploaded a new video to Youtube! I filmed it a while ago but didn't get round to editing it before going away so here it is:
